Plans for job-creating car dealership get backing of city planners

How the new dealership will look

Plans by Marshall Motor Holdings to build a new Volvo complex on the NG2 business park in Nottingham have been iven the support of planning chiefs ahead of a committee meeting next Wednesday (July 19).

The car dealership giant wants to add to its existing Valley Road site with a new showroom, workshop, offices, storage and spare parts facility, MOT bay and valeting suite on land near Speedo House at Unit 6, Enterprise Way in the city.

If the plans are given the go-ahead, Marshall will create around 30 jobs, with new positions available in sales and aftersales.

Marshall will continue to occupy its Valley Road site, but will use it for a different brand.

A planning statement reads: “The proposals will make use of an existing brownfield site, will provide jobs, and ensures that the proposals will pose no greater flood risk. The proposals reflect high quality design which meet the operational requirements of the occupiers.”

The council’s planning committee will vote on the scheme next week.
