Major Nottingham road closed in both directions – long delays expected

Commuters in Nottingham are set for delays this afternoon after a road traffic collision has closed Clifton Bridge in both directions.

Fire crews from Stockhill and West Bridgford are dealing with the situation and are warning of “major delays”.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is urging motorists to find alternative routes.

A statement from Nottinghamshire Police said: “We are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision on Clifton Bridge, along Clifton Boulevard in Nottingham. The road is closed in both directions. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”
