Plans for new Lace Market Bar shelved

Plans to turn the basement store room of a popular fish and chip takeaway in Nottingham city centre into a bar have been shelved.
Bas Alla, who owns the Lace Market Fish Bar at 3-5 Stoney Street, had submitted the plans to the city council in February of 2022.
However, the scheme has now been withdrawn.
The Fish Bar has long been a popular haunt for both hungry office workers and night time revellers alike, but the building itself was constructed at the end of the 19th Century as a warehouse. It is now Grade II listed.
