Approval granted for Garendon Park access road in Loughborough

Charnwood Borough Council has approved the construction of an access road at Persimmon Homes’ Garendon Park development in Loughborough.

The access route, situated off Hathern Road, had received initial outline approval in 2018. The recent application aimed to define specific aspects of the access road.

The newly constructed road will grant entry to a community costing consisting of more than 3,000 homes within there Garendon Park estate, under the supervision of Persimmon Homes North Midlands as the master developer. Across the entire strategic urban extension (SUE), a total sum exceeding £43 million will be contributed to support local infrastructure development and ensure economic progress.

Managing director of Persimmon Homes North Midlands, Dan Endersby said: “Approval for the Hathern road access at Garendon Park comes at a particularly exciting time as we welcome our first residents and continue to build our presence in Loughborough. Throughout the application process for this vital piece of infrastructure, we have worked hard to engage with key stakeholders and local residents to take their feedback on board.”
