Sweet deal for Derbyshire chocolatier as company plans expansion

Leanne Brocklehurst, Hot Chocalaterie

Hot Chocolaterie, an artisan chocolate shop in Buxton, has landed £10,000 in funding through the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans program, courtesy of First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans.

The shop specialises in crafting handmade chocolates for weddings, birthdays, corporate events and hen parties.

First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans offers government-backed business loans ranging from £500 to £250,000 for start-ups and small businesses that may not qualify for loans from traditional lenders.

The funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans has been used to buy equipment such as a chocolate tempering machine, melanger, microwave and other necessary tools. It also went towards purchasing ingredients crucial for making chocolates.

Leanne Brocklehurst, founder of Hot Chocolaterie said: “Thanks to the funding, my dream business has become a reality. With all the necessary equipment and a refurbished physical store, I anticipate better-quality chocolates and increased sales. First Enterprise’s support was invaluable. My adviser ensured my application was optimised, and I couldn’t have done it without him.”
