Nottingham’s Goose Fair returns

The Goose Fair returns to Nottingham from Friday 29 September to Sunday 8 October, at the Forest Recreation Ground.

Anticipated to draw in half a million visitors from the region, this extended ten-day event offers over 250 rides and attractions. Goose Fair, an annual tradition in Nottingham dating back to at least 1284, stands as one of Europe’s largest travelling funfairs.

New rides include the tiptop and xcelerator joining alongside returning favorites such as the reverse bungee, ice jet matterhorn, star flyer, and two giant wheels. Goose Fair classics like the skid, gallopers, and the cake walk will also be present, including various side-show games like hook-a-duck and basketball.

Food features traditional favourites like mushy peas, Grantham gingerbread, and cock-on-a-stick.

Councillor Pavlos Kotsonis, portfolio holder for Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council, said: “Autumn is nearly upon us and we’re looking forward to bringing Goose Fair back to Nottingham. Last year’s extended event was a huge success, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors from near and far.

“We’re pleased that it will return this year for ten days, enabling people and families of all ages to enjoy the exciting rides, attractions and food on offer. It’s great that the money-off ride vouchers are available once again to ensure that Goose Fair is an affordable day out for everyone.”
