Boots announces more UK store closures

Seven Boots stores are set to close in a few weeks as part of the company’s ongoing changes.

Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to shut 300 UK stores by the end of 2023, and several have already shut down.

Many more shops across the country are still at risk of closure. Boots has now identified the seven locations that will be closing in the coming weeks, as reported by the Express. These include: Front Street, Prudhoe – closing after the summer, Jardine Crescent, Coventry – closing after the summer, Guildford Road, Woking – closing in October, Windhill Road, Wakefield – closing on October 6, Upper Warrengate, Wakefield – closing on October 7, Glastonbury – closing on October 13 and Gorleston, Great Yarmouth – closing in November.

There has already been eight store closures.

These store closures are part of the company’s strategy to reduce its number of stores from 2,200 to 1,900. The pharmacy company is said to be providing alternative job opportunities to all affected workers.
