First look inside Nottingham’s newest bar

BOX, Nottingham

New Nottingham sports bar, BOX, is set to open its doors to the public this Saturday (November 11).

Spread over two floors in a Grade II listed building on the corner of Thurland Street and Pelham Street, the 16,000 sq ft bar will be one of the city’s biggest venues.

New images show how the venue embraces the building’s original architectural features, including high ceilings. These are blended with new features including the two metre mirror ball and “disco tunnel” with disco lights and tunes that come on with the press of a button.

With 35 HD flat screen TVs including a stadium style 2x3m LED screen, guests can watch sporting events from every seat in the venue, including Nottingham Forest’s clash with West Ham on Sunday 12 November. For those who like to get more hands on with their sport and challenge their friends, there are two 18-foot maple wood European Shuffleboard tables and three electronic dart boards.

The Christmas food menu includes festive dishes such as the Ain’t No Scrooge Tater Tots, Ho Ho Hot Dog and The Ultimate Box Christmas Burger including sprout slaw. These dishes are available alongside the well-known year-round classics including gourmet burgers, premium kebabs, and protein-filled salads.

BOX has also introduced two special dishes to its Nottingham menu that will be available from Saturday. They are Notts Totts, a twist on BOX’s loaded tater tots with pulled beef brisket, tender leeks and stilton cheese and The Stilton Burger, a beef burger with smoked pancetta and the famous blue cheese from the region.

Thursday night will see a fresh karaoke concept for Nottingham – Bandeoke, where customers will be offered the chance to jump on stage, and sing live with the bands. On the second floor, guests will find a bookable group karaoke room, as well as another luxury private room available for parties and meetings, aptly named The Bow and The Arrow.

Jamie Barnes, general manager at BOX Nottingham, said: “We’re really excited to be introducing BOX to Nottingham and we can’t wait to welcome guests to the bar this weekend so that they can see what it’s all about. It’s a unique space that has something for everyone; whether it’s sports, karaoke or premium cocktails – BOX will be the new place to go for lunch, dinner or a night out in the city centre.”
