Groundworks firm goes into administration

NRI Civils, a groundworks firm located in Corby, has entered administration.

The company was involved in a Barratt housing project in Cambridgeshire, where 83 new homes are set to be demolished due to faulty foundations.

Initially, problems were identified in 36 homes at the Darwin Green site, part of a Barratt David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire development of nearly 1,600 homes.

However, Barratt has now applied to Cambridge City Council to demolish 83 homes “due to necessary changes to the built foundations.”

NRI, in operation for over 10 years with an estimated turnover of £11m, is now under the administration of PBC Business Recovery & Insolvency.
