Alumasc given green light for £10m acquisition

Alumasc, the Kettering-based building products firm, has been given the go-ahead by the Government’s competition watchdog to make its first acquisition since 2018.

The company has been cleared by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to complete its £10m swoop for Leicester-based ARP Group, a manufacturer and distributor of specialist metal rainwater and architectural aluminium goods.

ARP was established in 1987, and operates from four facilities totalling over 47,000 sq ft, with a team of over 70 staff. ARP’s unaudited results for the year ended February 2023 showed revenue of £10.8m and adjusted EBITDA of £1.3m.

Paul Hooper, chief Executive of Alumasc, said: “This acquisition aligns with our strategy to accelerate our organic growth with earnings enhancing bolt-on acquisitions, and we are delighted that it has cleared its final regulatory hurdle. We are excited about the scaling up opportunities this transaction brings to both companies and look forward to welcoming the ARP team into Alumasc Group.”
