Print and packaging firm alerts administrators
A Leicester print and packaging firm is facing an uncertain future, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.
Greenshires Group, which can trace its roots back to 1963, is owned by the Yell family, has posted a notice of intention to appointment administrators through law firm Shakespeare Martineau.
The move will protect Greenshires from creditor action for around two weeks while the company tries to find a way forward.
Greenshires’ website says the company is in the processing of rebranding. It describes itself as a full-service print and packaging hub encompassing litho, carton, point-of-sale and “very shortly the very best in rigid box design, print and production”.
The company’s latest accounts, made up to the end of March 2023, show the company employed 53 people at the time, while it owed creditors £2.8m.
Greenshires has been contacted for comment.
It is the second East Midlands packaging firm to hit hard times this week. On Tuesday we reported that Surepak, a Nottinghamshire-based manufacturer specialising in flexible packaging for the food industry, is set to appoint administrators.
