Team Derby will be showcasing investment prospects within Derby city centre at this year’s MIPIM global real estate exhibition.

The event, held in Cannes, France, from March 12 to 15, is renowned as the largest property investment show globally.

Collaborating with both public and private sector partners, members of Marketing Derby’s inward investment team will once again unite to showcase the city to potential investors worldwide.

Derby will present alongside prominent UK cities such as Manchester, London, Newcastle, and Cardiff, all participating in this year’s MIPIM.

This year at MIPIM, Team Derby will focus on the downtown area, presenting projects aimed at boosting foot traffic and injecting vibrancy.

In a recent announcement, Derby City Council revealed its chosen development partners for rejuvenating the city centre, which includes VINCI Developments UK and ION Developments.

Collaborating with the council, they are now creating detailed plans to revitalise the city’s cultural core.

One of the initial proposals includes establishing a dynamic ‘cultural quarter’, featuring a new public space that integrates cultural, commercial, and creative elements, situated at the former Assembly Rooms site.

John Forkin, managing director at Marketing Derby, said: “MIPIM kicks off our year of promoting Derby to investors.

“It’s a massive event of some 25,000 people – but we know how to best use this unique opportunity, where a city like Derby can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with larger cities and target investors.

“This year, we will be focusing on the city centre where we have a great story to tell.”

Forkin added: “We will be looking to create interest in city centre sites, including the Assembly Rooms site – and we will be joined by the leader of Derby City Council and its chief executive, along with their preferred development partner, VINCI Developments UK and ION Developments.”
