Plans for the redevelopment of a long-abandoned fuel depot in Nottinghamshire have undergone revisions.

Chancerygate, the developer that acquired the former Total Fuel petrol storage site in Colwick in November 2021, initially secured permission to construct 13 new industrial units and a builders’ merchants in January of the previous year.

However, the firm has submitted updated plans.

The former petrol site has remained unused since 2019, with the primary building being demolished.

Chancerygate has clarified that the modifications to their designs are in response to heightened interest from businesses seeking to establish operations in Colwick.

Previously utilised as a distribution hub for nationwide fuel distribution, the Total Fuel Centre ceased operations as part of Total’s strategy to streamline its logistics.

While it was part of the Total Lindsey Oil Refinery near Grimsby in Lincolnshire, ownership ultimately belonged to Total S.A.

Chancerygate had previously stated that its initial project would generate hundreds of jobs and hold an approximate value of £20m.
