Former bar and restaurant transformed into apartments

The conversion of the former Tiffany’s Bar and Restaurant in Chesterfield into 55 apartments has been completed.

Nottingham-based developer ALB Group brought forward the project and despite initial delays in the planning process, it has been completed within the timeframe.

As part of the redevelopment, an extra floor has been added at the top of the building to provide 13 extra apartments.

Arran Bailey, managing director of ALB Group, said: “The result is unbelievable. Not only has it made the existing building look so much more appealing and modern, but it has also created some apartments with fabulous outside space.

“The upper two floors of the building have now been remodelled while the ground floor remains in use for commercial retailers. We are extremely happy with how this redevelopment has turned out,” said Arran. “It has transformed the high street, breathing new life in this part of the town, while also providing high specification ‘must have’ apartments for the people of Chesterfield.”

Tenants currently occupying the commercial space on the ground floor include H Samuel, Betfred, and Max Speilman.

The initial idea to turn the empty upper-floor space into apartments was initially rejected, which led to alterations to the plans to reduce the number of apartments from 40 to 36.

After this change, Chesterfield Borough Council approved the plans and since this, the work has taken 51 weeks to finish.
