On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Tom Copson, Matt Hutchinson, Lisa Parkes and Craig Shevas

Leicester-based accountants Rowleys has made two partner promotions, with Lisa Parkes and Matt Hutchinson joining the firm’s leadership team.

Parkes and Hutchinson have both been promoted to partner.

Parkes is an audit signatory for the firm and works with a a range of clients from owner managed businesses to larger corporates. She also heads up the firm’s charity and not for profit sector team and has been with the firm for 19 years.

Hutchinson joined Rowleys in 2014 and works with a range of businesses, many in the mid-market space. He also heads up the firm’s pensions team and is a specialist in auditing defined benefit pension schemes. He is also an audit signatory.

Rowleys’ managing partner, Tom Copson, said: “The promotion of Lisa and Matt to partner is testament to their continued hard work and dedication to the firm.

Accountancy firm Duncan & Toplis has appointed Nicholas Smith as its first chief operating officer

Formerly head of tax, Smith will work alongside Damon Brain, who has been made the firm’s first-ever CEO.

Smith said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of chief operating officer and I am looking forward to working more closely with Damon as we embark on this new period of growth. Over the years, I have witnessed first hand how Duncan & Toplis has evolved and modernised our offering, and I’m excited to play an important part in this now and for years to come.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in, helping the group to grow while delivering a service that focuses on our people, our clients, and the communities we live, love and work in.”

Savills has announced a number of promotions across its Lincoln and Nottingham offices.

In Lincoln, building maintenance manager, Richard Milburn has been promoted to associate director in the rural management team and surveyor, Henry King, has become an associate director in the farm agency team, while Melissa Gallagher has been promoted to associate in the residential sales team.

Meanwhile, in Nottingham, Ryan McGrath has been promoted to associate in the development team, while Eleanor Bach becomes senior staff in the same team.
