Keep an eye out for Keepmoat at Nottingham Hot Property 2024

Ashley Walters, land and partnerships manager at Keepmoat, has been involved in both the production and performances of Nottingham Hot Property for over 10 years. In its 20th year, Ashley shares why attendees certainly won’t leave this year’s event disappointed.

How many years have you supported/attended Hot Property

It’s now been 11 years!

Why is Hot Property so important to you? Why did you want to sponsor the event?

Not only is Hot Property the event of the year in Nottingham, but the continued impact it has for local charities is the real reason we all attend each year.

On a personal level, one of the things I love the most is seeing ordinary people get the opportunity to take part in a professional stage production. It’s not every day you get to perform to 1,000 people and it never gets old.

What’s your favourite Hot Property memory or performance from over the years and why?

Having taken part in the production and performances for over 10 years now, it’s hard to pick just one stand out performance. There was one year where we had lofty ambitions for a medley which included Linkin Park and Jay-Z’s Numb encore remix and Crazy in Love by Beyonce. The structure was thrown together in one manic session late in the rehearsal period, right before we were about drop it from the set, and it turned out to be the highlight of the show!

Hot Property has been going now since 2004. What were you doing 20 years ago and can you share a picture from that time of your life?

I was 14 years old in 2004 and I was just setting out on my musical journey. I had recently started learning to play the piano and little did I know I’d be performing on stages to hundreds of people every year and raising thousands for charity in the process.

What are you looking forward to most about Hot Property this year?

I’m most looking forward to the new venue and format for this year. We’ve always performed in nightclubs over the winter period, so it’s going to be a whole new experience playing outdoors in the summer on a festival stage.

I’ve also recently joined Keepmoat and my entire team are coming along to support the event, so I’m also excited as some of them have never attended before.

If you are performing, can you give us a sneaky clue about what we can expect?

Having drafted the set list this year, I can assure you that nobody will leave disappointed. We have everything from swing to grunge and everything in between.
