Law firm strengthens property team with new hire

Law firm Flint Bishop has announced the appointment of Simon Griffiths as a partner in its commercial property team at its Derby office.
Griffiths joins Flint Bishop from Henry Boot, the Sheffield-based property developer, where he served as head of legal.
Over eight years at Henry Boot, Griffiths advanced from group property solicitor to the head of legal, managing the operational legal functions, leading the in-house legal team and overseeing a multi-million pound annual external legal spend.
The appointment marks a return for Griffiths to Flint Bishop, having previously been a key member of the commercial property team from 2007 to 2016.
He brings extensive expertise in complex landlord and tenant matters, including acquisition, disposal and development of commercial and residential sites, leases and planning agreements.
Griffiths said: “I am delighted to be returning to Flint Bishop and to the vibrant city of Derby, a hub of investment in property developments. My move back into private practice from an in-house role allows me to bring a unique perspective and valuable experience to our clients. Understanding the needs and challenges from both sides of the table will enable us to provide even more comprehensive and strategic advice.”
