On the move: the latest East Midlands hires
Eddisons is set to extend its East Midlands regional reach further in to Leicestershire with the announcement of its latest senior hire.
Aman Verma, MRICS, will be based in Leicester and will join the firm’s commercial property agency team in the region this month as associate director from Phillips Sutton Associates.
Having been involved in property for a number of years – the past seven of which in commercial consultancy – Verma brings experience to Eddisons of all agency disciplines to work across the full range of commercial property sectors, including industrial, retail, office, mid-tech and land development.
Gilbert Harvey, director, of Eddisons, said: “Extending Eddisons’ offer in the East Midlands was always part of the business’s plan which began with the acquisition of Northamptonshire surveyors, Budworth Hardcastle in 2022.
“While we have grown our regional roster of clients and instructions over the past two years, an active recruitment campaign – which is ongoing, with more appointments set to be announced in the autumn – is part of our plan for strategic growth across all counties in the East Midlands. Aman’s depth of knowledge of Leicestershire and the contrasting strengths of its commercial markets across the county will play a key part in presenting the Eddisons’ offer to new property audiences, as well as reinforcing our regional reach to existing clients.”

His departure marks the end of an era, but the new board members are poised to continue the work of making Chesterfield a standout destination in the region.
Cllr Tricia Gilby, vice chair and leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, will lead the board while a new chair is elected.
Swallow said: “It is fantastic to be signing off my chairmanship by welcoming eight new board members, who will all be helping to guide the future marketing and economic growth of Chesterfield. One of Chesterfield’s great strengths is the collaborative nature of its business community, and this is reflected in the broad range of sectors represented on the board. The new members all have a vast amount of knowledge and expertise when it comes to the needs of our businesses and communities.”
“As I come to the end of my service as Chair of this successful partnership, I would like to wish Destination Chesterfield and all organisations across our town success in bringing further growth and regeneration, fulfilling Chesterfield’s ambition to be a fantastic location to live, work, visit and invest.”
Cllr Tricia Gilby said: “On behalf of the Destination Chesterfield Board, I would like to thank Peter Swallow for his years of dedicated service to the town. I am looking forward to working with all new and existing members of the Destination Chesterfield board to continue building on the progress made by the partnership over recent years. Not only does Destination Chesterfield raise the profile of our town, but it also acts as a vital private sector voice for the area, ensuring that our businesses are heard.”
