Accountancy firm unveils new team at Nottingham office
UHY Hacker Young’s Nottingham office has unveiled its new accounting and business services (ABS) team.
The newly formed ABS team will handle cloud accounting, statutory and management accounts, VAT, and general accounting services.
Leading the ABS team is Liz Searby, a partner with over 16 years of experience at UHY.
She said: “Owner-managed businesses are constantly evolving, and the ABS team positions UHY Nottingham to offer advisory services that go beyond basic compliance.” She emphasized that the new structure will provide clients with a broader support network compared to the traditional single-manager approach. This model is designed to assist businesses that lack an internal finance team, addressing a key need in the East Midlands professional services market.
The ABS team is headed by Searby and includes director Becki Roberts, who also leads UHY’s National Cloud Group.
The team features five managers, seniors, and trainee accountants.
Roberts said: “Technology is a huge enabler to process accounts more efficiently and better resource our time to create solutions for clients. Establishing the ABS team is the next logical step to deliver this client-centric approach, maximising the diverse attributes of our team through collaboration to help our clients prosper.
“As a member of the UHY team who has been given opportunities to develop extensively since I joined, the ABS team offers an even greater proposition for learning and development. By exposing graduate and school leaver trainees to client interaction in a controlled environment, they will have greater opportunities to develop the interpersonal skills that can be lacking through traditional accounts training, and they will have plenty of learning experiences alongside more experienced colleagues.”
