Day nursery sold to new operator following owner’s administration
A former day nursery in Boston, Lincolnshire, closed since December 2023, has been sold and is scheduled to reopen in November 2024 under Clarence House Day Nurseries.
The property was listed for sale after its previous owner, Alpha Nurseries, went into administration.
Specialist adviser Christie & Co handled the sale for an undisclosed price, making this the thirteenth location for Clarence House Day Nurseries.
David Eaves, director of childcare & education at Christie & Co, said: “Following the closure of Alpha Nurseries in December 2023, we were approached to assist with the sale of this freehold property. We were immediately inundated with interest from a variety of parties, including nursery operators and developers interested in converting the property to an alternate use.
“I’m delighted the property will remain a childcare and education setting and this exemplifies the current appetite in the market from providers seeking to grow their portfolios, due in no small part to the demand created by the implementation of the expanded childcare funding. I wish Clarence House all the best with the opening and anticipate we will see more transactions of this nature of the coming year, with existing operators taking on vacant properties to expand their offering, whether this is former settings that have closed or conversions from alternate uses.”
