Classic car manufacturer alerts administrators
A Silverstone-based classic car manufacturer David Brown Automotive is facing an uncertain future, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.
The “restomodder” company, which takes classic designs and gives them a modern twist, has posted a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators through Harrison Clark Rickerbys.
The move will protect the company from creditor action for a period of around 10 days while it tries to find a way forward.
David Brown Automotiveswas set up by its eponymous ex-owner and is famous for its Speedback GT and Mini Remastered models.
In 2017, the company moved into new 18,000 sq ft premises at Silverstone Park, before being sold by Brown in 2020 to UK Advanced Industrials.
Last year, David Brown Automotive delivered one of the first customer examples of its all-electric Mini eMastered to world renowned music mogul and television star, Simon Cowell.
David Brown Automotive had not responded to requests for comment as we went to press.
