Butcher faces the chop as it primes administrators

Price and Fretwell, the award-winning butcher to the catering trade, is facing an uncertain future, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.
The firm, which is based in Tibshelf, has posted a notice of intention to appoint administrators through law firm Wilkes Partnership. The move will give Price and Fretwell around ten days’ protection from creditor action while it tries to find a way forward.
Price and Fretwell delivers products to trade customers and the public across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.
In its latest available accounts, made up to September 30 2023, Price and Fretwell owed creditors some £1.2m. At the time, the firm employed 38 people.
Price and Fretwell did not respond to requests for comment.
