Commuters facing major delays as main route into Nottingham closed

Commuters in Nottingham are facing serious delays this morning after one of the main routes into the city centre has been closed due to flooding.
The A52 eastbound is closed between the A60 Ruddington and the A606 Wheatcroft near Nottingham.
This is due to flooding.
National Highways contractors are on scene attempting to deal with the flooding.
There are currently 45 minute delays on approach.
The news follows on from earlier warnings from East Midlands Railway (EMR) this morning, saying that heavy rain has flooded the railway between Grantham and Nottingham.
Meanwhile, due to heavy rain flooding the railway, the line between Derby and Long Eaton is currently closed.
And there are delays on the following lines:
Sheffield/Nottingham/London
Newark/Nottingham/Derby/Crewe
Matlock/Derby/Nottingham
Liverpool Lime Street/Nottingham/Norwich
EMR said: “Where possible, trains will divert. We are also making alternative arrangements to keep you on the move.”
