Hallam CEO steps down as senior reshuffle revealed

Jake Third and Julio Taylor

The CEO of Nottingham marketing agency Hallam is set to step down from the role.

Julio Tayor is moving to a “strategic role”, four years after he took the top job at the company.

The move has triggered a reshuffle at the top of Hallam, with Jake Third taking over from Taylor as CEO Francis Williams moving to creative director and Gareth James joining Hallam as growth director.

The move comes a time of significant change at Hallam. The firm, which is behind the hugely popular Digital Summit event, recently revealed a raft of redundancies – but said that new jobs had also been created.

A statement from Hallam said: “Julio navigated the challenges of the pandemic and lockdown, achieved significant revenue growth, and firmly established Hallam as a leading national agency. With Julio at the helm, we’ve earned numerous international awards for innovation, performance, and commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture, including winning Marketing Week‘s prestigious ‘Campaign of the Year’ in 2024.

“Whilst we’re sad to see him leave, this transition opens the door to a new wave of leadership, ready to take Hallam to the next level.”

Hallam was founded by well-known entrepreneur Susan Hallam in 2000. She handed over the running of the firm to Taylor and Jake Third, then managing director in May 2020.

The company’s latest Digital Summit was held last September at the Broadway Cinema complex in Nottingham. Over the years, the event has raised over £80,000 for local charities. The Digital Summit had around 600 attendees, with 42 speakers across around 40 sessions.
