200 Degrees’ managing director leaves the business

Stephen Fern, the managing director of Nottingham-based coffee roaster and retailer 200 Degrees, has left the company, it has emerged.
Fern, who has been with 200 Degrees for almost six years, has left the company “to pursue a new career opportunity,” TheBusinessDesk.com has been told.
A spokesperson told us: “After five and a half years with 200 Degrees, Steve Fern left the company in December to pursue a new career opportunity. It was a personal decision – we thank him for all his hard work during the process of joining The Nero Group, and we wish him well for the future.”
The move comes after 200 Degrees was sold to the Caffe Nero Group last October.
Fern leaves behind a stellar legacy at 200 Degrees, with the vast majority of the company’s expansion coming under his watch as first finance boss, then managing director.
Founded in 2012 in Nottingham by Rob Darby and Tom Vincent, 200 Degrees has grown into a successful 22-store Midlands based coffee brand. In addition to stores, the business has its own roastery and operates an online e-commerce channel selling directly to customers at home, including a subscription offering. 200 Degrees also operates a wholesale arm, serving over 500 wholesale customers.
Rob Darby is the guest speaker at our networking lunch next month – tickets are available here.
