East Midlands toast of the markets as share prices surge

Share prices have soared at three East Midlands companies on Wednesday morning (March 5).
Investors piled in on fantasy games maker and retailer Games Workshop, aggreates supplier Breedon and brickmaker Ibstock after early morning updates.
Ibstock, while reporting sombre full-year results, said the worst was over and it expected an improvement in market volumes in 2025, with “momentum building through the year”. The company’s share price rose on the news to 163.5p at 10am – up 7.3% from its opening price.
Meanwhile, Games Workshop’s share were up almost 7% to £14.72p each as they neared an all-time high on the back of full-year profit forecasts being revised upwards again.
Breedon’s £187m acquisition of Missouri-based Lionmark Construction Companies – a move it said would double its US revenues – saw its share price shoot sharply upwards to 490.5pm, up 14.5% on the day.
