Ashfield District Council appoints firm for £4m carbon cleanup project

Ashfield District Council has launched a £4m government-funded decarbonisation project aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, with Kinver Business Solutions appointed to manage the initiative.
Secured through the YPO Framework, Kinver will serve as project managers, contract administrators, and cost consultants for two sustainability upgrades.
The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 423 tons annually, contributing to the council’s long-term environmental goals.
The upgrades include installing air source heat pumps at Hucknall Leisure Centre to replace outdated gas boilers, as well as similar improvements at the council’s head office in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
These changes are designed to cut emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and reinvest savings into vital public services.
Kinver Solutions will manage the process from design and procurement through to construction and implementation.
