Convenience store let to new operator as owner shifts focus

One Stop Stapleford near Nottingham has been let to a new operator after the previous owner decided to step away from the business to focus on other ventures.
One Stop Stapleford is a convenience store offering a variety of household essentials, confectionery, pay-point services, and National Lottery products.
As a result of the owner’s decision, an operator with experience in managing convenience stores has secured a new lease. The new owner plans to introduce new services, including parcel deliveries.
Christie & Co managed the sales process.
The store’s former owner said: “I would like to thank Jacob at Christie & Co for all his efforts during the sale of a new lease for my business. From the start, he gave me the best advice and a full understanding of the process, as it’s the first sale I have been through. He kept me in the loop from start to finish and was always available to talk, even after hours.”
Jacob Toon, associate director of retail at Christie & Co said: “I am delighted to have helped my client dispose of this asset. On my initial appointment, he made it very clear that he wanted to prioritise time with his family and, due to his location, he had at least a three-hour round trip to the store. Therefore, I am thrilled he can now invest that time back into his family. The initial interest received in this asset was excellent. Upon launch, we had 17 viewings and this materialised into four competitive offers.”
The acquisition was funded by Christie Finance. Callum Williams, finance consultant at Christie Finance said: “It was a pleasure to finalise this deal for a first-time buyer. He has numerous innovative ideas for the store, and I am excited to see how his vision will transform the business. I look forward to witnessing the store’s growth and success as he implements his plans and takes it from strength to strength.”
