Leicestershire pharmacy sold as owner retires after 25 years

Ben Modi of Highmark Services has sold HMS Pharmacy in Loughborough, Leicestershire, as he prepares to retire after more than 25 years of ownership.
The pharmacy dispenses an average of 10,500 items each month and is housed in a two-storey building with two consultation rooms and a vacant first floor.
The sale was handled by Christie & Co, with Dr. Milan Chande and his family acquiring the business.
It marks their first foray into pharmacy ownership, following Chande’s previous purchase of a dental practice in Leicester through Christie & Co in 2021.
Carl Steer, director of Pharmacy at Christie & Co said: “After an unsuccessful sale with another agent, Ben instructed us and, within six weeks, we achieved numerous offers and agreed a sale to Dr Chande. A great result and a happy client. Following the recent completion of another pharmacy in the town, and with four more in the county to follow in the coming months, the outlook for pharmacy sales in the region looks positive.”
