Boots Enterprise Zone comes to market

One of the most significant regeneration sites in the East Midlands has been officially launched at MIPIM.

The Boots site, in Beeston to the west of Nottingham city centre, which is part of the Nottingham Enterprise Zone, received outline planning consent for some 900,000 sq ft of new commercial space and up to 675 new homes and detailed consent for a new public highway in December 2014 and it is now being released to market by commercial property agency Innes England.

Tim Garratt, managing director at Innes, said: “This site is hugely important for the regeneration and growth of Nottingham and one of the most significant to come to market for a number of years, so MIPIM was the logical place for us to launch it to market.

“In recognition of its importance regionally, we want to ensure that this site is used to create a legacy for the city so will be looking to create a health, beauty and wellbeing-led mixed use ‘urban village’ with a mix of commercial and residential development.

“In doing this, we will support a scheme which will offer people a complete lifestyle option where they can live and work, where enterprise and innovation are fully integrated in one place.”

Mark Chivers, Enterprise Zone director at Boots, said: “We’re really excited about the opportunities for the site, and its future as a centre of gravity for health, beauty and wellbeing businesses.

“We have an ambition to improve the health and wellbeing of the next generation, and at our site in Nottingham, we believe that we can help to achieve this by creating a brand new and highly sustainable community, bringing together commercial and residential uses for the land.

“We hope that the site will form an important part in shaping Nottingham’s regeneration, and we’re thrilled to be taking this next step by launching it to market at MIPIM.”

The Boots Enterprise Zone was one of the first ‘new’ Enterprise Zones to be announced by Prime Minister David Cameron at the site in 2011.
