East Midlands Airport flights to Brussels axed for second day

Flights from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Brussels have been thrown into chaos after yesterday morning’s terrorist attacks, which have left over 30 people dead after explosions rocked the city’s transport hubs.
Flights were cancelled immediately after the attacks on Brussels Airport and the metro on Tuesday.
BMI Regional, which runs the flights between EMA and Brussels said in a statement: “BMI Regional sends thoughts and sympathy to everybody in Brussels today affected by this tragedy.
“Following an update from Brussels authorities all BMI Regional flights are also cancelled on 23rd March 2016.
“Passengers booked for travel within the next 28 days can transfer to an alternative flight free of charge within the next 28 days. Please call our customer care team on +44 330 3337998 to make any changes or if you have booked via a third party/travel agency please contact them directly.”
Meanwhile, national press is reporting that David Dixon, a computer programmer from Nottingham who has been working in Brussels for the last ten years is still missing following the attacks on the metro. It is reported that he has not answered his phone nor replied nor made contact since the terrorist attacks.
