Printing company doubles up with funding deal

An Ashby-de-la-Zouch supplier of digital printing equipment is predicted to increase its turnover by a third, following the move to a new, larger premises with the help of a £650,000 Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking loan.
Digital Office Systems has moved to its new base at Ivanhoe Business Park which, at 5,000 sq ft, is more than double the size of its previous headquarters in the town centre.
The larger premises also means that the firm can hold more stock on site rather than renting warehouse space, allowing it to provide a speedier and more efficient service to its customers.
As well as allowing the company to recruit for six new roles, bringing its total headcount to 24, the move also means that the firm is well placed to target an increase in its current £6million annual turnover to £7million in the next year.
Founded in 1994, Digital Office Systems is a Xerox Production Partner, providing Xerox printing equipment and software solutions to over 2,000 customers throughout the UK. The firm also offers its own dedicated IT support and development team to deliver enhanced customer service and technical guidance.
John McPhillips, director of Digital Office Systems, said: “After outgrowing our previous base in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, this move is an essential part of our growth plan and will play a key role in enabling us to build upon our great reputation for customer service.
“The support of Lloyds Bank, and its understanding of our business, was key to securing our new premises. The move leaves us well placed to realise our growth plan over the coming years.”
Darren Billinge, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “We’re committed to supporting business with strong and ambitious plans for growth. The new premises will not only improve the efficiency of the business, but has also boosted local employment.
“This deal comes as pledge to grow our SME lending by at least £1billion each year until the end of 2017, as we look to help businesses play their part in driving the economic recovery.”
