Bierkeller set to bring 100 jobs to Nottingham

A new bar chain is coming to Nottingham, promising a multimillion pound investment, 100 new jobs in the city and the biggest screen in any bar in the UK.

The Burning Night Group will open a Bierkeller Entertainment Complex at the former Walkabout bar site on Friar Lane in a £2.1m investment.

The new development will include three bars in one venue; the Around The World Bar, Shooters Bar and The Bierkeller, and is set to open in September.

The Around The World Bar will offer over 100 different bottled beers and ciders from across the world as well as a focus on real ales and craft beers and will offer an American/European-inspired food menu. Around The World will also be home to acoustic music, with various musicians playing during appy hours and on the weekend.

Shooters Bar is the sports bar of the complex. It will show three live sporting games at once and Burning Night plans to have 20+ 55” LCD screens and a 6m x 4m LED screen which the company thinks will be the biggest screen in any bar in the UK. The fit out will come complete with pool tables, table tennis tables, gaming machines and a darts board. The food and drink offering will encompass an American style food menu and a large range of bottled/draught beer and cider as well as a craft beer wall.

The Bierkeller is a Bavarian Bierkeller bar with authentic décor, long bench seating and Steins served by waiting staff in traditional dress. Every Friday and Saturday night there will be an Oompah Band will be taking to the stage to take customers on a musical journey to the Bierkellers of old.

During the week The Bierkeller will play host to weekly live music events and a comedy show. The food offering will include a range of German Sausages served individually or on sharing plates and burgers.

Drinks options will include a large range of German bier and cider with stein cocktails.

Rebecca Moran, operations director, said: “We’re very pleased that the opportunity has come up to move into a thriving city like Nottingham, following success in other key UK cities.

“The Complex will be a completely new offering for the city centre and the ultimate destination for all types of social occasion. We can’t wait to get started and unveil the finished product to the public later in the year.”

The Burning Night Group has similar bars in Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff and Manchester.
