Fashion designer Westwood dines in Derby

Derby Indian restaurant Anoki played host to world renowned fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood, who visited the city earlier this week.

Dame Vivienne visited Derby to give a talk to a 450 strong audience at Derby Theatre about climate change and social responsibility and promote her Climate Revolution campaign.

The restaurant on London Road welcomed Dame Vivienne and 18 guests from the University of Derby who enjoyed an authentic Indian dining experience.

Over the years, Anoki’s fusion of fine dining Indian cuisine has attracted many well-known faces to its three restaurants. Regular diners include former Dragon’s Den star Hilary Devey CBE and world snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, along with of senior members of the region’s business community.

Owner Naveed Khaliq said: “It was an honour for Dame Vivienne and her guests to choose to dine at Anoki. At the end of her visit, she thanked us for a lovely evening and said our restaurant manager Ibrahim looked fabulous in his traditional Indian uniform.”
