Skeleton brings city to life with Nottingifs

A Nottingham video agency has produced a series of GIFs aimed at celebrating the city as a cultural and creative hub.

Skeleton, based at The Sir Colin Campbell Building, has designed the gifs after being inspired by a similar project in New York.

The series of GIFs celebrate Nottingham landmarks, brands and cultural icons such as Goose Fair, Annie’s Burger Shack, Rock City, the tram system and even the cockleman who famously travels around city centre pubs selling seafood.

Lydia Cockerham, video and content communications specialist at Skeleton, said: “We’re using them at the moment to try and spread the word online about Nottingham and everything it has to offer. Really it’s a bit of a tribute to the city we love. We’re encouraging everyone we can to share them and spread the Notts love.”

Skeleton’s Troy Browne is the creator of what he is calling Nottingifs. He said: “We knew we wanted to do something to celebrate Nottingham and raise its profile as a massively creative city. So I thought it might be nice to do that through a series of GIFs.

“We also want to get the people of Nottingham involved, so they can tell us what represents the city to them. We’re planning on running some polls on social media so we can ask real Notts folk about what other GIFs they’d like to see.”

Skeleton works with the likes of Experian, 3M and Boots and also has an office in London. It was was founded by James Bryant and Jonathan English, two University of Nottingham graduates with a shared desire to ‘do their own thing’ and avoid the 9 to 5. The company specialises in producing video content for businesses and brands.
