A Nottinghamshire shooting ground has been sold in a deal brokered by Richard Watskinson & Partners.

Current owner, Charlie Denoon bought Orston Shooting Ground more than 20 years ago and will now retire,

Charlie said: “My wife, Linda, and I are looking forward to our retirement but will miss the 2,000 members that we’ve built up over two decades at Orston.”

Buyers, Emily Richards and Daniel Martin have now left Prescott Shooting Ground in Cheltenham, which the couple ran for 10 years.

“We wanted to expand our business but, as shooting grounds don’t come up for sale very often, we weren’t really looking for somewhere else,” said Emily Richards.

“When we saw that Orston was on the market it was a godsend, providing us with the perfect opportunity to achieve our career goals. We didn’t expect to move but when we came for a viewing we fell in love, proving that everything happens for a reason.

“Moving forward, we hope to confirm Orston’s place as a centre for excellence across the country for both proficient clay shooters and new people coming into shooting. We hope to work with local businesses in and around the area to expand shooting in the local area and working relationships.”
