Hawke flies high at Cartwright King
Law firm Cartwright King has made three board level appointments and 11 senior level promotions.
This follows the company’s announcement in January that it is looking to increase revenues by 10% in 2016. Recruitment plans are already ahead of schedule with head count up by 10% with 27 new starters since the start of the year.
This month, managing director Rupert Hawke becomes chief executive. Chris Byron joins from Aspire Law as managing director south to work alongside Mark Hopwell as managing director for the north.
Byron has worked in both public and private sectors in Europe and Asia. Prior to his appointment at Cartwright King, he was managing director of Aspire Law which was created out of a partnership between Moore Blatch and the national charity Aspire.
Mark Hopwell has been with Cartwright King since 2001, when he joined as a non-practising barrister before cross-qualifying as a solicitor. He has concentrated predominantly in fraud and white collar crime.
Five senior associates have been promoted to director – solicitors Chet Desai, Alison Ward and Paul Wright as well as HR manager Ellen Nightingale and finance manager Luke Pickering.
Matthew Aldwinkle, Yvonne Chapman, Lauren Crow, Neil Davis, Daniel Simister and marketing manager Ben Trott all become associates.
