Imogen’s hotel had achieved almost legendary status among the south Nottinghamshire networking crowd. Langar Hall had been in Imogen’s family since the 1860, but when she inherited it she was forced to take in paying guests to make ends meet. The hotel has since won countless awards and become a popular meeting place for the local business community.
A close friend of Imogen’s, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “The monthly networking ‘Linkedin Lunches’ she initiated at Langar Hall became legendary, and a regular appointment in my diary and for many others – not so much networking, but going to lunch with Imogen, as she hosted them in her own inimitable fashion.
“I know that many people will have their own stories of her delightful eccentricity to share and whilst recounting these tales there may well be a break in the voice and a tear in the eye but I am sure that all will end with a smile, remembering the self-confessed ‘delightfully dotty’ but very astute businesswoman.
“My thoughts are with Imogen’s family, especially her daughter Louise, who was also injured, and all the team at Langar Hall, who were Imogen’s extended family.
“Someone who knew Imogen extremely well and had worked for her for over 15 years said: ‘I’ve never seen a bigger personality in a smaller person. You already know she is genuinely irreplaceable.'”
