Tributes pour in for Langar Hall owner

Tributes have poured in to TheBusinessDesk.com after we broke the story yesterday (Friday) morning of the tragic death of Langar Hall Hotel owner Imogen Skirving.
Imogen, who died after being hit by a car in Menorca on Wednesday evening, was one of the most popular figures in the East Midlands business community, as the tributes have shown.
Claire Bicknell, owner of Catena Network, said: “I have had the pleasure of knowing Imogen from the time I moved to Nottingham 10 years ago and she had become a wonderful friend to Darren and I; whilst also being an enthusiastic and committed member of the Catena Network, and a trustee of the charity Darren runs, The Belvoir Cricket and Country Trust.
“Very recently Imogen and I shared a gardening conversation and I sent her the email I had received from David Austin Roses of the new ‘Imogen’ rose and she told me she had ordered 2. I will be ordering one too now, the rose will have a special place in my garden, as she has in my heart.”
BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew tweeted: “Desperately sad news. We will all miss Imogen dreadfully. Eccentric, funny lady who ran a brilliant business.”
Debbie Kaye, owner of recruitment firm Kaye Alexander, said: “I could not believe the news when I heard. A very sad day.”
Martin Done, communications and marketing director at Nottingham County Council, added: “Shocking news. Imogen’s personality turned a hotel into a home. It is hard to imagine Langar without her.”
An official statement from Langar Hall read: “On behalf of all the team at Langar Hall, it is with great sadness to announce our tragic loss of dear Imo.
“The family would like to thank everyone for the kind words and support that we have received.
“Imo was always the heart and soul of every party and she would never want such tragic circumstances to get in the way of any plans.
“Langar Hall will be open for business as usual.”
