Driver involved in Imogen Skirving incident released on police bail

The driver involved in the incident which killed Langar Hall owner Imogen Skirving has been released on police bail, according to local reports in Menorca.

The 76 year old driver of the car faces a charge of reckless homicide after the incident which killed Imogen Skirving and caused serious injuries to her daughter Louise.

The accused has had her driving license taken away from her by the local court on Menorca, as well as her passport. She also has to appear at court every two weeks and report to police any time she leaves the island.

The driver of the car had admitted she’d been drinking wine with her husband at lunchtime last Wednesday, according to reports in Menorca. The accident happened at around 5.30pm local time.

Police in Menorca say that in a manual breathalyzer test the driver showed a rate of 0.60 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air.

Meanwhile, management at Langar Hall have stressed that the hotel and wedding venue remains open for business.

A statement on the Langar Hall website reads: “On behalf of all the team at Langar Hall, it is with great sadness to announce our tragic loss of dear Imo.

“The family would like to thank everyone for the kind words and support that we have received.

“Imo was always the heart and soul of every party and she would never want such tragic circumstances to get in the way of any plans.

“Langar Hall will be open for business as usual.”
