Logged off: Dr Neil Slatcher, 3D Laser Mapping

Dr Neil Slatcher, research and development manager at Bingham-based 3D Laser Mapping, tells us how he likes to relax at the weekend.
How do you relax at the weekend?
I usually head over to North Wales or the Lake District.
How many hours do you work at the weekend on average?
I try to keep my weekends free as much as possible to spend time with my family. If I am working, then it’s usually on a more experimental research project I don’t have time for in the week.
What’s your favourite:
– Holiday destination? The North West Highlands in the UK or any remote mountains worldwide.
– Book? The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle or the Worst Journey in the World by Apsley Cherry-Garrard.
– Album? Hard to pick a favourite but ‘License To Ill’ by the Beastie Boys was the first album I ever bought.
– Food? Yo Sushi – I think me and my wife hold some kind of dish stacking record!
– TV programme? Test Match Special on the radio to be honest.
– Website or app? Google Earth is pretty amazing. Visit anywhere in the world from the comfort of your own home.
How do you usually spend Sunday evenings?
Usually in my van heading back from the hills.
