Healthy deal for ALB brings new jobs to Ilkeston

Gym chain Snap Fitness has opened its first gym in Derbyshire at the former Ilkeston Co-op site.
Snap Fitness, which has over 1,800 gyms worldwide, including branches in the US, Australia, New Zealand and India, will create an as yet unspecified number of jobs for local people.
The opening of the gym is the eighth retail unit to be leased by Nottingham based ALB Commercial Investments, which lans to develop the upper floors into 66 apartments.
Daniel Smith, area manager at Snap Fitness said: “We’ve had a lot of interest in the new gym at the former Co-op, it’s a great building in a good location. The gym floor is really spacious, which allows us to provide equipment for everyone. We try to produce a relaxed atmosphere and no one is judged.
“We are all here for the same reason, to exercise and to feel better about ourselves so that is why we have targeted the gym towards all abilities, we are really passionate about helping someone achieve their personal goals.”
Snap Fitness joins Discount Party Outlet, Eighty Eight Clothing, Thorpes of Ilkeston, Newlynn and Maggie Throup MP at the newly refurbished Co-op building.
