Moffett will lead a team of 30 in Nottingham

The man charged with putting Nottingham on the map will be at the head of a 30-strong team, it has been revealed.

As we reported on Tuesday, Brendan Moffett will take charge of the new Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire organisation in October. He joins after a spell as a director at Sheffield-based marketing firm Jaywing.

A spokesperson from Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire said: ” Brendan has a wealth of experience in industry, where he has held a number of marketing positions at a senior level. He also has a strong background in place marketing, having had a similar role in Sheffield for several years.”

The spokesperson said that Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire was working with place brand specialists Thinking Place on “a new narrative and proposition for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We will be revisiting the name of the company in the light of this work.”

When he starts in late October, Moffett will have responsibility for leading the operations of Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire, comprising Experience Nottinghamshire, Invest in Nottingham and Nottingham Means Business – with the objective of contributing to the economic growth of the city and county through increased inward investment and improved visitor numbers, spend and length of stay.”

The team of 30 will be based at Gothic House in the city centre.
