On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Nottingham-based law firm Cartwright King has expanded its regulatory department, appointing five solicitors to the nationally-operating team.
Andrew Brammer is joined by Nottingham based solicitor Louise O’Driscoll who has over a decades worth of experience.
O’Driscoll will also be working alongside director Michael Balmer, associates Paul Henocq and Matthew Aldwinckle, and solicitor Jane Anderson.
Andrew Brammer, head of regulatory at Cartwright King said: “We are pleased to significantly expand our regulatory department, in response to increased demand from both businesses and professional individuals.
“The team’s extensive experience ensures that Cartwright King is ideally placed to represent clients facing investigation right across the region, and we look forward to providing increased support in this increasingly busy area of law.”
Housebuilder William Davis has taken nine new apprentices.
Joining the Loughborough-based company are bricklayers, Callum Gamble and Max Harrington; joiners, Daniel Axten and Joshua Wallis; plumbers, Jacob Keogh and Isaac Harper; electricians, Sam Hubbard and Joe Hill; and quantity surveyor, Lewis Ingram. Each of the new recruits will undertake a three or four year apprenticeship to achieve an NVQ Level 3 or HNC with on-site training being supported by academic studies at Leicester College or Loughborough College.
As part of their first week’s training, the new apprentices spent time on William Davis’ flagship development at Grange Park, Loughborough with site manager, Simon Smith.
“Our aim is to give the new apprentice intake opportunities to learn right from the outset, and taking them onto a live building site does just that,” said apprentice training supervisor, Gary Long. “Immediately, they get to see the day-to-day activities taking place as well as meet and speak to the site managers and tradespeople they will be working alongside.”
William Davis has been operating its apprenticeship scheme for over 60 years, and has been recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service, NFB, CIOB and CITB for its commitment to delivering successful apprenticeships. Including this latest intake, the company currently employs 35 apprentices.
