Nottingham hotel set to open new bar and restaurant

The Mercure Hotel in Nottingham is set to open a new bar and dining area called The George.

Opening in Autumn, The George will be situated on the ground floor of the hotel and will open from breakfast until late.

A spokesperson from Mercure said: “The coffee house will serve our very own Curious Coffee and it will have a light, fast daytime menu with the addition of traditional tavern comfort foods along with a Great British Tapas selection.

“In the evening a range of oysters and champagne will be accompanied by cask ales from the medieval cellars below The George. If you prefer to indulge in cocktails instead, they’ll be a wide range inspired by famous guests who have stayed in the hotel over the years.”

The building The Mercure is situated in is one of Nottingham city centre’s oldest, dating back to 1822.
