On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Emma Tatlow the head of Visit Lincoln has announced that she is taking up a new position and will be taking on a national role in the Mayflower400 celebrations that are due to take place in 2020.

Colleagues have paid tribute to Tatlow who played the lead part in establishing the Visit Lincoln Partnership and, amongst other things, masterminded the promotion of Lincoln during the City’s Magna Carta celebration in 2015.

Mark Hollingworth chair of the Visit Lincoln partnership said: “Emma is going to be a hard act to follow and we are looking for someone ambitious, willing to take up this challenge and able to drive Visit Lincoln forward.”

Simon Beardsley chief executive of the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce said: “Emma helped to found the Visit Lincoln Partnership and it is though her hard work and determination that we are in a much better position now. Lincoln has come on leaps and bounds as a visitor destination in the last few years and Visit Lincoln has helped to bring the businesses and partners together to enable this to happen.”

Matt Corrigan chief executive of Lincoln BIG said: “Lincoln BIG and Visit Lincoln have made a great team and we are sad to see Emma leave. We wish her well for the future and I’m sure that she will be making sure that Lincoln plays its part in the Mayflower celebrations.”

Eversheds chairman, Paul Smith, said: “One of the striking features of Eversheds is the high level of unity and cohesion around the firm, borne out during the election process and result. Eversheds has evolved significantly since the start of Bryan’s first term. Under his leadership, we have increased revenue, profitability, and financial strength through some tough years for the legal sector.

“We have also extended and further established our coverage, in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Africa with excellent client and award recognition to match. Our global capability is renowned and has won us an impressive list of major new clients. Lee has played an integral role in achieving this progress and I have every confidence that he will continue to build on the strong platform we have in place moving forward”.

Ranson said: “I have spent the whole of my professional career with Eversheds and am delighted to be in a position to lead our continued progression towards becoming a leading global law firm. We have a clear strategy and will continue to focus unashamedly on our clients – if they are successful then we will be successful”.

Bryan Hughes said: “This is a great appointment for Eversheds. I have very much enjoyed working closely with Lee, who has been a key member of the management team that has delivered a huge amount over the last 8 years and I have no doubt that, under his tenure as Chief Executive, the firm will go from strength to strength”.

Ranson joined Eversheds in 1990 in the London office and led the Real Estate Litigation Group from 2002 before heading the Real Estate Practice Group in 2005.

He has served as managing partner from 2009 and will continue in this position until the end of April 2017.
