Delight as Derbyshire firm bags £120,000 Turkish deal

Kugel Motion, a Derbyshire firm specialising in the manufacture of custom linear motion products, has secured an order from a Turkish client worth £120,000.
Kugel Motion says the order, which was secured with the help of the Department for International Trade, will help the company secure further contracts in the UK and abroad.
Alexander O’Neill, Kugel Motion’s managing director, said: “This is an important business win for our firm, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of the Department for International Trade. The support it offers to businesses is invaluable, and the seminars it hosts are incredibly useful – especially on culture. We received a lot of advice from the representatives from the Turkish embassy about what’s expected of companies who do business in the country, such as the importance of the correct greeting when meeting contacts.
Ian Harrison, the Department for International Trade’s acting director for the Midlands said: “Kugel Motion’s success in Turkey is an excellent example of how support from the Department for International Trade can help companies navigate potentially difficult markets and come back with significant business wins. It a testament to the talent and specialist expertise within our region that products developed in Ilkeston are in such demand from one of Europe’s emerging markets.”
