Building briefs: Holden Vale Hotel for sale; Edgar Brothers expands; Specsavers on Fylde coast

THE former Holden Vale Hotel at Helmshore in Rossendale has been put up for sale with an asking price of £700,000.

Currently owned by a private individual, the three-storey detached modern building has traded as a hotel, function and wedding venue for the past ten years.

The new owner could continue to operating in this way, but the site has the potential to be redeveloped and converted into a long-term care or supported living facility, subject to planning approval, according to property agent CB Richard Ellis.

Shaun Skidmore, director of leisure and alternative investment at CBRE North West, said: “The property is a modern and attractive building set on a site which has some very pleasant features including a brook and footbridge as well as an open green area.

“Combined, the building and its surroundings create an ideal site for a hotel or care facility as there is the opportunity for further development.”
