Bolton multi-utility company will quadruple space in new office

Bolton company Aptus Utilities will quadruple its office space and lay the foundation for substantial growth when it moves into new headquarters this month.

The multi-utility provider, which has been based in Wingates Business Park in Westhoughton since 2013, has signed a 10-year lease on newly-refurbished offices located nearby.

Bolton West MP Chris Green will officially open ‘Aptus House’ at Barrs Fold Road on May 29.

The new office provides 22,000 sq ft of space across two floors for the company to grow into.

Aptus Utilities currently employs around 100 office staff at its Bolton head office to manage central functions and North West regional operations.

It also has more than 180 site staff operating across the North West, North East and Midlands out of three depots, installing multi-utilities on a range of developments for construction clients.

Depots at Penrith and Gateshead were opened in 2016 adding to the existing Leyland base and allowing the company to meet demand for services from a growing portfolio of clients.

Aptus Utilities is now looking to secure a base in the Midlands to support expansion in the area.

Since forming in 2010 the company has gained notable awards recognition and is regularly listed among the fastest-growing companies in Greater Manchester and the North West.

It entered the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 for a second consecutive year in 2017 – the annual league table ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest growing sales over their latest three years.

In 2017 Aptus Utilities also won a major award for investment in skills and apprenticeships at the GM Chamber Skills for Business Awards.

With a strong order book ensuring a positive outlook into the 2020s Aptus Utilities said it will continue its robust programme of recruitment and will be looking to add regional skills and talent to its award winning team.

Managing director Lisa Kerford said: “Aptus Utilities has signed a 10-year lease on extensive premises that will safeguard the future growth of our North West administrative centre and multi-utility operations.

“With expansion gaining momentum in the North East and Midlands the board felt the timing was right for us to invest significantly in a new office, which guarantees our commitment to growth.

“Our Bolton headquarters has good access to motorway networks allowing us to draw from a wide regional resource pool – and with the spacious new office facilities, generous free parking and the overall benefits we offer as a company, we hope that will make us attractive to people as an employer.

“This is a momentous step in the company’s evolution and a mark of our ambition and confidence that we hope will provide reassurance to our industry partners, clients and suppliers during a period of unprecedented change for construction and utilities.”
