Housebuilder starts work on first site in Longridge

A typical street scene from Anwyl Homes Lancashire

Anwyl Homes Lancashire has started work on a new residential development of 83 high-quality new-build homes on Whittingham Road, close to Longridge town centre, near Preston.

The first development in Longridge for the Lancashire region of the housebuilder, based in Chorley, the 7.7 acre site will be transformed with an attractive mix of three-bedroom detached, semi-detached and mews homes and four-bedroom detached homes.

Taking inspiration from the nearby Victorian railway bridge, which is an historic local landmark, the development will be known as Stonebridge Fold, and will help to meet increasing demand for quality new build homes in the area.

As with all new developments from Anwyl, the company said Stonebridge Fold will offer a variety of different house types with each one thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of modern living and benefiting from a superb specification.

Externally, properties boast style and character to create a beautiful street scene.

Internally, they reflect the latest lifestyle trends featuring open-plan kitchen dining rooms with French doors that lead out onto the rear garden and well proportioned bedrooms with en suites to the master.

Managing director at Anwyl Homes Lancashire, John Grime, said: “We are delighted to start work on our first development in Longridge, delivering a beautiful collection of high quality new-build homes to meet demand from buyers locally in Longridge and further afield in Preston and across the Ribble Valley.

“Close to beautiful areas of open countryside and a thriving network of towns and villages, Lancashire is widely regarded as one of the most desirable places to live in the North West.

“We are pleased to be further enhancing the existing local housing market with a selection of superb new-build homes and are expecting strong interest in Stonebridge Fold from a variety of purchasers, including first time buyers, young professionals, families and couples.”

As part of its planning application, Anwyl Homes will make a Community Infrastructure Levy payment of £630,170 which will go towards the improvement of local facilities to the direct benefit of the existing community.

Work has started on site, with the sales presence and show homes due to launch early Spring 2020 and the first customers moving in from May 2020.

Anwyl Homes Lancashire is part of the Anwyl Group which has been established for more than 85 years and has three divisions: Anwyl Homes, Anwyl Construction and Anwyl Land.

The family-run business is based in Ewloe, near Chester.
